Coriander seeds is heart friendly , protects the brain and immune boosting anti oxidant, appetite stimulant ,clears skin , reduces bloating and gut issues .
So making this thogaiyal , once in a while, helps in keeping our system in perfect condition.
Ingredients
- Coriander seeds half a cup
- Red chilies 6 to 8
- Black Pepper corns 1/2 teaspoon
- Asafoetida (Hing) 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame oil 5 teaspoons
- Salt 2 teaspoons
- Tamarind marble size
- Mustard 1 teaspoon
- Blackgram dal ( Urad dal) 1 1/2 teaspoons
- In a small uruli or a saute pan , add oil and heat .
- Add the coriander seeds , and stir fry. When they turn slightly brown, add rest of the ingredients .
- Shallow fry for a minute or so , in low heat .
- Make a coarse paste, by sprinkling water , in a mixie .
- The thogaiyal is ready to be eaten with rice .
