Masala Paal / Masala Milk / Masala Doodh

 

 

Masala Paal or Milk, is an extremely delicious drink, to be had at all times . This beverage is full of flavour and tastes heavenly. Masala Milk, can be made on special occasions , as an offering to God and for festivals . It is infused, with the  goodness Panakalkandu / Palm candy and other spices . Masala Milk, is rich in taste and will be a hit with all ages . especially with children. Women, who are pregnant, can be served this refreshing milk . Also for sportsperson and children ,this is an ideal drink, than, other commercially available ones .

 

Use good quality milk and use Palm candy for a distinct taste .

Ingredients

  1. Milk half a liter
  2. Palm candy 4 small size
  3. Sugar (optional)   1 teaspoon
  4. Cardamom  1
  5. Cinnamon sticks 2 inch
  6. Cloves  1
  7. Almonds   4
  8. Pista   6
  9. Dry ginger a pinch
  10. Saffron  few strands
  11. Black Pepper corns (powdered)   1/4 teaspoon

Method

  • Boil the milk , adding cloves, cardamom and cinnamon.   Once it boils , keep on low flame . Add saffron and boil till it reduces .
  • After  5 minutes ,  take out the cloves , cardamom and cinnamon. Add  sugar,  palm sugar, dry ginger , black pepper  and boil again till it reduces a little .
  • Meanwhile, powder coarsely the nuts and stir .
  • Garnish with more nuts and serve hot .
  • Use full cream milk for best results .
  • Use more sugar if required .
  • One can make the powder of nuts , dry ginger , black pepper and store it . Use it whenever, the masala milk is to be made .
  • If Palm candy is unavailble , use more sugar .
