The South Indian breakfast requires , different types of chutneys to accompany the various breakfast dishes ,Coconut chutney is a common side dish . Pudina , Coriander , Tomato , Peanut, Garlic chutney are some chutneys , which are popular. Try this basic , Coriander chutney recipe . Coriander is available throughout the year and make an easy quick dip too.
Ingredients
- Coriander leaves ( washed and chopped ) 1 cup
- Green chilies 2 to 4 ( chopped fine )
- Ginger ( Grated) 1 teaspoon
- Salt 1/2 teaspoon
- Hing or Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon
- Grated coconut ( optional ) 2 tablespoons
- Fried gram dal ( Pottukadalai ) 4 tablespoons ( optional)
Method
- Grind all the ingredients together to a smooth paste . Add 1/4 cup water , if needed while grinding .
- Season with mustard and dried red chilies .
