Wheat Flour Halwa

 

 

This is wonderful sweet you can make quickly and tastes lipsmacking. The Wheat flour halwa is also known as Kada Prasad as its made in the Gurudwaras as a Prasad . its soft ghee rich flavour and texture just melts in the mouth . It can be prepared when the guests land up unexpectantly as it needs very few ingredients and will be liked by all.

Wheat Flour 2 cups

Sugar 2 to 3 cups

Ghee 2 cups

Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon

Cashew nuts / Almonds (sliced or broken) 1/4 to 1/2 cup

Water 2 cups

Kesari Colour a pinch( optional)

Edible camphor ( Pachaikarpooram) a pinch (optional)

Method

Method

In a thick bottomed kadai or pan , heat a tablespoon of ghee and add nuts.

Shallow fry them till  light brown . Remove with a slotted spoon and drain . Keep aside .

Add rest of the ghee , and heat for 30 secs or so .
Add Wheat flour and shallow fry them in ghee. Stir continuously

Meanwhile, heat water in a vessel and dissolve the sugar in it .

When it’ s well dissolved , add the water solution to the wheat flour mixture.

Stir till all the water is dissolved .

The wheat flour mixture will start leaving the sides of the Kadai and move  as a single mass.

Add Nuts , Cardamom powder , Kesari powder and Pachaikarpooram.

Serve hot , eat and enjoy.

Note

Note

The sugar can be replaced by palm sugar .

The amount of ghee and sugar can be reduced if desired .

However the taste and texture will be effected.
