Panagam/ Jaggery Drink

 

 

Panagam is a jaggery based drink made during Rama Navami , Its also offered as a welcome drink on auspicious occasions or during Pooja.

Panagam is extremely refreshing and very easy to make . Panagam is rich in electrolytes ,hence prevents dehydration . It being rich in iron and magnesium, helps in warding off tiredness . Moreover its a tasty drink, without any harmful chemicals . No artificial additives and totally natural . Use organic or country sugar to make Panagam.

Ingredients

 

  1. Organic Jaggery half a cup
  2. Water 2 cups
  3. Cardamom powder half a teaspoon
  4. Dry ginger  ( Chukku podi) half a teaspoon
  5. Lemon juice 1tablespoon

Method

  • Add  Jaggery to the water and mix well . Boil it for two minutes in low heat , till it melts .
  • Filter it and add Dry ginger powder and cardamom powder .
  • Let it cool . Add lemon juice . Serve chilled or as it is.
