Doodh Peda is delicious milk sweet , which is a popular sweet , loved by one and all.
Its very popular in North and South of India. Its a favourite of Lord Krishna , so its prepared during Janmashtami. When milk is left in large quantities , this sweet can be prepared and shared with loved ones.
Ingredients
- Milk ( full cream) 2 liters
- Sugar 1 1/2 cups
- Ghee 2 to 4 teaspoons
- Cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Pistachios (broken ) 4 tablespoons

Method
- Cook the milk in a wide Uruli, or a deep bottomed vessel . Cook in low heat , till it thickens and reaches a mud like consistency.
- Stir now and then. Add sugar and cook again, till it thickens again . Remove from fire and then add ghee and cardamom powder.
- Mix well and keep aside, till it cools. Knead well . Make small pedas of the milk solids and sprinkle pistachios on top .
- Add colour of your choice, to the mixture, to get coloured Pedas .
- Unsweetened Khoa can be used instead of Milk and made into Pedas , quickly.
