Nethu Kootu Maavu Pachadi/ Lentil Wheat Flour Raita

This is a different Pachadi / Raita unlike the ones ,we usually make . Most Pachadis are curd based and grated raw vegetables are added to them , In this Pachadi , lentils are powdered and added to the curd. This Pachadi tastes well with Mixed rice varieties .

 

Ingredients

  1. Red Gram dal (Tuvar Dal) half a teaspoon teaspoon
  2. Bengal gram dal (Chana Dal) half a teaspoon
  3. Black gram dal half a teaspoon
  4. Wheat flour 1 teaspoon
  5. Blackpepper corns half a teaspoon
  6. Turmeric Powder 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Salt half a teaspoon
  8. Curd 1 cup
  9. Fenugreek seeds  1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  10. Oil 1 teaspoon
  11. Mustard 1 teaspoon
  12. Green chilies 2 chopped fine
  13. Coriander leaves few
  14. Curry leaves few

Method

  • Dry roast the lentils / dals and fenugreek seeds , to light brown . Powder them smoothly along with blackpepper corns.
  • Add salt ,turmeric powder  and wheat flour to the curd and mix well.
  • Add the powder and stir .
  • Heat oil in a small sauce pan , add mustard . When it crackles , add green chilies and curry leaves .
  • Season the Pachadi . Add the coriander leaves and serve with rice .
  • Absolutely delicious.
