Green Pepper Pickle / Kuru milagu Oorgai/ Green Pepper corn in brine

Green Pepper Pickle, is one  of the easiest pickle to be made, which is  fiery , tangy and tasty . Its oil less and fuss free. It can be eaten with curd rice or used in a variety of sandwiches . The green pepper corns are high in antioxidants and anti bacterial. Peppercorns remove flatulence and many other digestive issues . As they are found in plenty in the markets, in the  month of February / March , make them and relish their taste .

  1. Green Pepper corns  half a kilo
  2. Rock Salt   3/4 cup
  3. Turmeric Powder    a pinch or two
  4. Lemons 12 to 15

Method

  • Clean the green pepper corns . Drain and keep aside .
  • Boil 2 cups of water and add salt . Let it dissolve .
  • Cool and add turmeric powder .
  • Squeeze the lemons and remove the seeds . Add them to the water and stir .
  • Take the  cleaned and drained pepper corns in a clean bottle . Add the lemon water to it and close it tight .
  • See to it that the peppers are completely immersed, in salted lemon  water .
  • Shake well and let it remain aside for 10 days . Everyday shake the bottle and enjoy the pickle after 10 days
