Sundals are a great snack option and can be had , with evening tea or as a side dish with lunch menu.
They are high in protein and are filling too .
Sundals are made during Navaratri , too and most Poojas have Sundals are Prasadam.
Ingredients
- Fresh Broad Beans 1 cup
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Oil 1 teaspoon
- Mustard 1 teaspoon
- Hing or Asadoetida 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves few
- Coconut (grated ) 1/4 cup
- Red chilies 4
- Green chilies 2 ( finely chopped )
Method
- Pressure cook the beans , till soft . Add salt and mix well . Heat oil in a shallow pan , add mustard.
- When it splutters , add red chilies , asafoetida. curry leaves and turn off the heat .
- Add to the cooked sundal and garnish with grated coconut .
- Some grated ginger and onions too , can be added , while shallow frying .
- Add coriander leaves on top and serve . The sundal is a healthy tea time munch .
- To give some more flavor , add some sambar powder, to the sundal .
