Lemon is a citrus fruit available throughout the year. Its favorite of many calorie conscious people , as its considered to reduce weight if drank on empty stomach. Its rich in Vitamin C and is very refreshing to drink . During the harsh summers , a cold glass of lemon juice comes as a saviour . It saves us from dehydration and is can be added to other fruit juices to enhance the taste.
Its cheap and available year round, so everybody can benefit from it. It boosts immunity and is good for the bones and skin. Make them fresh , especially during the summers , to hydrate , over active children. The summers being intolerable in the South , the juices help in keeping the body dehydrated and spirits alive .
Ingredients
- Lemons 6
- Sugar 3 tablespoons
- ice cold water 2 litres
- Ice cubes
- Mint sprigs few ( for decoration)
- Salt 2 teaspoons
- Ginger grated for garnish
- Green chili 6 ( Split into two with the head intact)
Method
- Squeeze the lemons and extract the juice . Add water ,sugar and salt.
- Stir and add ice cubes . Add the chilies .
- Sprinkle some grated ginger and mint sprigs on top.
- Serve in tall glasses .
- You can add Orange juice
- Blue Curacao syrup , Pineapple syrup , Watermelon or Strawberry juice, to get a different flavour and color to the Lemon juice .
