KARACHA MAAVU DOSAI/ WHEAT FLOUR DOSAI/ GEHU KE AATAE KA DOSA

When you run out of ideas , or just want to make a quick breakfast /dinner option , which is light and healthy , you could definitely , make karacha maavu dosai or wheat flour dosai
This is an instant dosai , doesn’t need fermentation and is very tasty .

Karacha maavu dosai
Wheat flour pancakes
Ingredients
Wheat flour 1 cup
Rice flour 1/2 cup
Maida or Ragi flour 1/4 cup
Salt 1 1/2 teaspoons
Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon
Oil for seasoning 1 tablespoon
Mustard 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves few
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Dried red chillies 4 to 5 numbers (broken )
Water to make batter 2 cups
Gingelly oil for shallow frying dosai 1/4 cup
Method
Take a deep bowl , add all the flours and mix well
.
Add salt , asafoetida and water to make a thin batter
.
Heat a small pan , add oil , when it becomes hot add , mustard , cumin seeds , red chillies and curry leaves .
When mustard crackles , add it to the batter .Mix well
Take a dosai iron cast pan
Heat it , when hot add , grease it .Add a ladle of batter and spread around the pan , in a thin circle .
Pour oil around the sides . Let the flame on medium heat .
Shallow fry till golden brown , turn and cook the other side.
Serve hot
Repeat for rest of the batter .
These dosais are best eaten hot .
Serve dosai milagai podi ( lentil powder for Dosai) or tomato thokku to add tanginess the dish .

Note
You can replace maida , rice flour with bajra , corn flouror ragi and add to wheat flour , while making the batter
Other spices can be added to.the seasoning .
