Kadalai Paruppu Laddu / Besan Ka Laddoo/ Chickpea flour Laddu

 

 

Kadalai Paruppu laddu is a sweet , which is very popular and easy to make . So if you are short of time or want to make sweets in large scale , you can make this laddu and delight one and all. This Laddu can be stored for more than fifteen days or more and can be prepared without any elaborate procedures. Its a festival must recipe and can be made as Neivedyam or Prasad  too.

 

 

Ingredients

  1. Kadalai Paruppu or Chana Dal 4 cups
  2. Powdered white organic Sugar 4 cups
  3. Hot ghee  1 to 1  1/2 cups
  4. Cashewnuts 100 grams

 

Method

  • Soak the Chana dal for an hour . Drain and dry partially . Dry roast in a pan to a  golden brown and powder to a smooth texture .
  • In a big bowl or a tray , add the chana dal flour and sugar and mix well .
  • Add hot melted ghee  ( 1cup) and nuts , mix well  with a ladle or fork.
  •  Grease your hands and with help of your fingers and palm ,  immediately start making small big lemon sized laddus, of the mixture .
  • Arrange them on another tray and store them.
  • Delicous , lipsmacking laddus are ready.

Note

  • You can use Country sugar / Nattu chakkarai or boora sugar or other types of sugar . But the colour of the laddoo will get different .
  • Sometimes the Chana dal powder amy require more ghee to bind the powder to make laddus. so add ghee accordingly .
  • To see if the ghee is of  the correct propotion ,  take a little of the  mixture and make a laddu. If it holds , the ghee is enough , if it falls then the mixture needs more ghee .
  • Add cardamom for flavour to the laddus before binding them.
  • This sweet can be made from Fresh chickpea flour  too .
